HOME DEFENSIVE LECTURE
Protect your Family
Service Description
The GGF Home Defense lecture provides responsible adults with a practical, safety-centered framework for protecting their household. This 90-minute classroom-based program examines how situational awareness, conflict avoidance, de-escalation, and advance planning can reduce risk before an emergency occurs. Students consider the unique challenges of defending a home while accounting for family members, guests, neighbors, and responding law-enforcement officers. Topics include developing a personal and home-protection plan; identifying vulnerabilities; establishing secure areas, communication procedures, and emergency contacts; selecting and safely storing defensive tools; and understanding the principles that govern the lawful use of force. The lecture also addresses firearm and ammunition basics, defensive-shooting concepts, the physiological effects of violent encounters, and the legal and practical aftermath of a self-defense incident. This lecture is appropriate for new and experienced firearm owners who want to make informed, responsible decisions about home defense. It does not include live-fire training, confer law-enforcement authority, or replace legal advice. Participants remain responsible for following current federal, state, and local law, household policies, instructor directions, and safe-storage requirements.
