Service Description

Security Team Handgun Certification Handgun is a fast paced, two (2) day, perpetual hot range environment, designed to enhance your decision making relative to defending the lives of your patrons, fellow team members and yourself. The objective of this course is to significantly enhance the students’ knowledge and abilities beyond the level of the average shooter because lives are in immediate danger at the hands of a “bad actor.” This course will provide you with the opportunity to assess your preparedness, situational awareness, decision-making and ability to stop a life-threatening situation. Prerequisites: Have completed the Defensive Handgun Skills Assessment, with at least 80%; 25 shots from 3 yds – 15 yds, from concealment, within time limitations Weapon manipulation – Clearing malfunctions and doing reloads within time limitations A current Missouri CCW is required. Applicants for this course must show proof of having completed a Basic Defensive Handgun course where they have demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with: The 4 Universal rules of gun safety, loading and unloading a handgun, safe presentation from concealment, sight alignment/sight picture/trigger control, clearing malfunctions, tactical/emergency reloads, after-action drills, when to/not to shoot, and Missouri Law regarding lethal force. For those who have not taken the GGF Basic Defensive HG course, but believe they are qualified for this program, a demonstration of your preparedness will be required ahead of the scheduled class for a $20 fee. The Program: Over course of 16 hours the participants will: Optimize self-defense speed and accuracy Articulate the Missouri law for a good defensive shoot Demonstrate the skills for defensive movement in a crowd (Sul) Develop a Combat Mindset Demonstrate Close contact Shooting Accurately Fire on multiple adversaries Fire while being Mobile Demonstrate accuracy while firing with a single hand – Strong and Support side Tactical & Emergency Reloads during a defensive encounter Single handed magazine changes Defending through physiological impairment Demonstrate Distance shooting Be able to understand and navigate the aftermath of a defensive shooting Entire course will be preformed from concealed carry. The course includes real world scenario training on the premier “MILO” Shooting Simulator, to train for appropriate decision making, within the boundaries of Missouri law.
